Workers who are outside between the hours of 11am and 4pm (when ultra violet radiation is most intense) have an increased risk of skin cancer. Hot work is a term used to describe tasks such as welding, thermal or oxygen cutting or heating, grinding, in fact any work that may create heat or a continuous stream of sparks. Fatigue and insufficient sleep can put your health at risk in many ways. Not only can it impact on your immune system, it can cause a loss of alertness, which in turn will effect your judgment, reactions, skill levels and safety. In fact, many safety incidents in the workplace are directly attributed to fatigue.
