Induction Series 2012
| 36 short (approximately 5 minutes) toolbox talks for induction or refresher safety training.
Hot topics for summer training sessions: Skin cancers account for over two thirds of all cancers diagnosed in Australia. Workers who are outside between the hours of 11am and 4pm (when ultra violet radiation is most intense) have an increased risk of skin cancer. Hot work is a term used to describe tasks such as welding, thermal or oxygen cutting or heating, grinding, in fact any work that may create heat or a continuous stream of sparks. Fires are a preventable catastrophe that can cause hundreds of thousands of dollars damage, loss of production, loss of jobs and loss of lives. Everyone in their workplace should have a vested interest in the prevention of fire and be aware of what actions to take in the event of a fire. Hot summer nights can interfere with sleep. Fatigue and insufficient sleep can put your health at risk in many ways. Not only can it impact on your immune system, it can cause a loss of alertness, which in turn will effect your judgment, reactions, skill levels and safety. In fact, many safety incidents in the workplace are directly attributed to fatigue.
